A GeoExchange consultant requires many attributes, but the most important is practical experience. Knowledge of open loop systems, closed loop systems, commercial, residential, forced-air, hydronic, along with anything else relating to the GeoExchange field is very important. Knowing what works and what doesn't work is the reason why you're looking for a consultant in the first place. The ability to converse with engineers, architects, builders, and owners to design a system is key.

Thermal conductivity testing is an important process when designing a source-side ground loop field. Make sure your consultant can do this for you and interpret the data.
